Car photoshoots
How much does a car photoshoot cost in Phoenix?
A car owner shoot is $150 and includes one location picked to suit your car and about 50 edited photos. You can add rolling and panning shots for $75 or a second location for $50. Selling your car? The Private Seller package is $175. Dealerships are quoted per job. No deposit is required; you pay after the shoot.
Can you take photos to help me sell my car?
Yes. The Private Seller package ($175) covers everything a buyer wants to see: every exterior angle, the interior and dash, the engine bay and close-up details, plus a few artistic shots that make your listing stand out on Bring a Trailer, Cars & Bids, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or AutoTrader. Good photos help your car sell faster and for a better price.
What are rolling shots and panning shots?
Rolling shots are taken from another moving car driving alongside yours, so your car looks sharp while the road and background blur with speed. Panning shots are taken from the roadside as your car drives past, with the camera following it to create the same sense of motion. They're the most dynamic photos you can get of a car, and you can add them to any car owner shoot for $75.
When is the best time of day for a car shoot?
It depends on the look you want. Golden hour, right after sunrise or before sunset, gives soft, warm light that makes paint glow. Night shoots are great for a moody look with city lights, parking garages and light trails. I'm flexible and can work around your schedule. In the Phoenix summer, I recommend early morning or evening shoots to beat the heat, for you and your car.
How should I prepare my car?
A clean car photographs best. Before your shoot:
- Wash it, or get it detailed if you want it looking its best
- Clean the interior and remove personal items like phone mounts, air fresheners and papers
- Clean the wheels and tires, and add tire shine if you have it
- Fill up the tank if you're adding rolling shots
- Bring a microfiber towel for quick touch-ups on location
- Want your plates hidden? Feel free to bring a plate cover
Do you photograph dealership inventory?
Yes. I've shot inventory and featured vehicles for dealerships like Hillbank Motor Corp and Loren Automotive. Dealer shoots include consistent, listing-ready photos of every angle, the interior and details, plus rolling and panning shots for the cars you want to feature. Photos are delivered in 3–7 days. Dealer work is quoted per job based on the number of vehicles. Request a quote
Portraits
Where do you take senior and grad photos?
Popular spots include campuses like GCU (Lopes up!) and ASU, Papago Park and Hole in the Rock, and Saguaro Lake. Want somewhere that means something to you, like your school, your neighborhood or a favorite hangout? We'll pick the location together so your photos feel like you.
What should we wear for portraits?
Solid colors and simple textures photograph best, so skip busy patterns and big logos. For couples and families, coordinate your colors instead of matching exactly. Individual, senior and couples sessions include two outfits, so bring a change. Wear comfortable shoes for walking to the spot. Seniors and grads: bring your cap and gown, letterman jacket or sports gear for a few extra shots.
Can you photograph a surprise proposal?
Yes! Proposals are booked as a Couples session ($200). We'll plan the spot and timing ahead of time, I'll stay out of sight to capture the moment the question is asked, and then we'll do a short couples shoot right after while the excitement is real. Want the photos fast to share with family? Add Engagement Rush for $150 and get your edited photos within 12 hours.

Do you travel to Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler or Gilbert?
Yes. I'm based in Phoenix and shoot all over the Valley, including Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale and Peoria. Locations within the Greater Phoenix area are included in your price. I'm also happy to travel farther, like Sedona, Flagstaff or Tucson, and I'm available to be flown out for shoots and events. If a shoot needs more than about 1.5 hours of total travel, there may be an added travel fee, and I'll always tell you before we book.
Do I need to pay a deposit? How do I pay?
No deposit is required to book. You pay after the shoot, before your photos are edited and delivered. I accept Venmo, Zelle and cash. Please give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel; late cancellations may need a deposit for future bookings.
What if it rains or I need to reschedule?
No problem. If weather or something unexpected gets in the way, we'll pick a new date together at no extra cost. If you need to reschedule for another reason, just give me at least 48 hours' notice.
How long until I get my photos?
Car owner, private seller and portrait photos are delivered within 2 weeks of your shoot. Need them sooner? Faster delivery can be discussed for an additional fee. Dealer work is delivered in 3–7 days, and couples and engagement sessions can add Engagement Rush to get edited photos within 12 hours.
How do I get my photos?
Your edited photos are delivered in a private online gallery on SmugMug. You'll get a link to view, share and download your photos in full resolution from your phone or computer.
Can I post the photos on Instagram or use them in my listing?
Yes. You can use your photos however you like on social media and in prints, and dealers and private sellers can use them in vehicle listings and ads. Tagging @shot.by.garrett is always appreciated but never required. The only thing I ask is that you don't enter the photos in photo competitions without my approval.
